Kuba Cloth Cushion
NZ$790
A very clever friend of ours happens to have one of the most remarkable textile archives you will see.
Each time she visits with another treasure for the shop, we learn something new. She makes sure we know where a Bogolan comes from and shows us how to tell the difference between a Feraghan and a Turkoman, between a Kente and a Kuba.
Well, this is carefully made from pieces of Kuba cloth - from the Democratic Republic of the Congo - and it is just exquisite. Look closely, and you will see shells embroidered onto the surface.
This one is very delicate, for decorative use only.
