You never stop learning in this trade. The young Julian is buying with us in France - he has been sourcing Impressionist and Post-Impressionist canvases for us - but he has also introduced us to these exceptional period frames.
The frames were made in Montparnasse in the 1920s - it was full of poets and painters at the time. This frame is not gilded like earlier frames, but finished in soft colours, complementing the Cubist and early Modernist painters of that period.
