Transitional Commode

NZ$7,500

This lovely French piece, purchased in Northern France, has a nod to the Italian furniture of the same period. It is a stunning 18th-century walnut commode and is the real deal! The vertical columns, to the left and right of each drawer, are decorated with angled Walnut veneers that create a spiral effect. While each drawer front uses varying cuts of Walnut veneer to make up the diamond and bordering patterns. Finished off by the shaped Italian marble, beaded Regency handles and escutcheons, and the fluted feet with simple brass caps.
