Extra Large French Workbench

We purchase these marvellous, rustic, 18th and 19th century workbenches in Brittany, northern France. They weigh a tonne and you need two very strong people to lift them.
The 100mm thick top on this one has absorbed many hammer blows and saw marks, over the past two hundred years.
They look a bit dry and sad when they arrive in New Zealand, but we clean them and give them just one coat of French polish to release the patina of ages.
All the hammer blows and saw marks come to life - just wonderful - and we think these look amazing beneath an interesting piece of modern art.
