When you go France, all the furniture is ornate - carved, inlaid, decorated - and when you find the plain pieces, it is a relief.

The top drawer is shaped, with no handles, only escutcheons - and each drawer opens from below. These drawers sit above a pair of symmetrical, fielded, panelled drawers, opening to reveal the burgundy interior.
Raised on Louis Philippe feet, excellent quality. Super!
