An English Oak Apprentice Chest

NZ$1,950

When a cabinet maker finished their apprenticeship, their final job/test was to make a small version of their usual work.

These Georgian pieces are highly valued. This chest from the 1820s is crafted in quarter-sawn English oak, and the key escutcheons are iconic shield walnut inlays used in the 1810-1820 period.
