French Oak Burgundian Table
These early oak wine tables were made in the period when England made the best cannons.
The stem of this table was turned in the manner of a gun barrel.
The tripod base gave these tables stability on uneven flagstone floors, and the quarter-sawn oak top is what you would expect from this period.
