A lovely illustration of a Grande Jakamar bird by Jacques Barraband mounted in a fine Montparnasse frame.

Jacques Barraband was a French zoological and botanical illustrator renowned for his lifelike renderings of tropical birds. His illustrations were based on mounted specimens and considered the most accurate drawings made during the early 1800s. His works were so well-respected that Napoleon I hired Barraband to decorate the banquet hall at St.
