A Louis XIV period couch.
A perfectly proportioned piece, its six legs strengthened with an attractive stretcher base. The front three legs are carved in the cabriole style, and decorated with carved and gilded motifs.
The arms and shield shapes in the couch's back are iconic 18th century Gustavian design.
The rake in the couch's back and the antique paint finish are extraordinary.
We haven't upholstered it, it is so special we think someone will want to make it their own.
