The patina, proportion and finish of this bureau plat are just perfect.
The desk's cabriole legs, finished with a hoof foot, support two shaped drawers flanking a shorter shaped drawer. The matte black paint finish, with the walnut showing through, is very nice. Each drawer has a shield-shaped escutcheon, the only nod to ornamentation.
