Wellington Chest

The first Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley, commissioned the first chest of this type - a tall bank of drawers secured by hinge-locking pilasters to take with him to war, and carry around the battlefields.

Due to their compact size, they are a highly sought after and prized piece of furniture.
