Settles are relatively common, but a box settle is a rare beast. The high back has three fielded geometric panels supported by strong Jacobean arms. The arms are supported by the styles of the fielded box/coffer base.
The relatively shallow depth of this piece makes it extremely 'placeable' in a hall or entrance.
