Semainier is French for week. Here we have a fantastic version of a seven-drawer, seven-day chest of drawers - if you are one of those fancy people with a set of French lingerie for each day of the week, then this is the piece for you... or someone you know!
Back to semainier, this is outstanding quality from top to bottom. The original marble top sits over seven kingwood drawers, surrounded by walnut parquetry, each finished with round ring handles and Louis XV escutcheons. The entire piece sits on Louis XV-style feet, tipped with brass ormolu mounts.
