Louis XVI Commode

This lovely mortice and tenon-jointed French commode has three short drawers over two long, raised on column-turned and fluted legs. The drawers are inlaid with geometric patterns, almost in that northern Italian manner that we love, surrounding the brass handles and escutcheons. The drawers are framed by fluted columns.
Mr L our new restoration Guru tells me that the commode is not as old as it looks and is mid 20th century rather than mid 19th century - so, as we say in the Trade, it is Louis XVI-style - but I don't think it detracts from the value of this decorative commode - Very Battersea
