Katrina was saying we are a-wash with Empire consoles - but they are so hard to find normally, and it was just that we managed to get in and out of France during covid and were the only buyers, so enjoy this stunning French Empire of strong lines yet small pleasing proportions, we won't find another as nice as this for quite some time.
These consoles when put in the entrance vestibule of your Parisian town house were fitted with mirrors so you could twirl to check your petticoats which is how they came to be referred to in the trade as petticoat tables.
