Ebony Directoire Console with Shelf
The French somehow get these small tables perfectly proportioned - I am not sure how!
This table has a plain black top with the slightest thumbnail moulding along the edge, two small drawers and regency ring handles.
Turned and fluted legs would make this table spindly but the lower shelf ties it all together. Very clever.
