Louis XV Semainier

A marble-topped seven-drawer commode - referred to as a semainier meaning 'week' in French, as it has seven drawers, one for each day.

This particular semainier is serpentine shaped with a walnut and kingwood inlay. Excellent brass ormolu mounts, rings and escutcheons.
