Windsor Chair

About once a year someone asks for a real Windsor chair - we import new Windsor chairs if you want a set - but this is one of two antique carvers that have come in locally.

These chairs sold at Donald Melville Antiques in 1999 for $2000 each, back when $2000 was worth an awful lot more than it is now. The price is unchanged because this is a fashion industry.

A high-backed ash-topped wheel-backed chair with thin arms, a broad seat and a stretcher supporting the legs.

Very very special chairs, but not very fashionable.
