Bleached Jacobean Side Table

Purchased in Yorkshire, a two drawer Jacobean side table with turned legs. This piece demonstrates a medley of early English styles.

The Georgian gun-barrel turnings, in the manner of a cannon, support an almost Victorian frieze below the Jacobean geometric drawers with their drop handles. The drawers are seperated by Jacobean split turnings and Queen Anne period engraved key escutcheons.

These various styles meld together perfectly with a modern bleach finish. The table's narrow depth makes it a versatile side piece or sofa table.
