18th Century Gustavian Cupboard or Vitrine

This glorious piece is an example of very fine Louis XV period Swedish cabinetry.

Painted in that lovely Gustavian grey colour with a Nordic blue interior. Features include a cornice moulding with cantered sides - it even has candle holders in the top!

This is the original Gustavian grey that so many later pieces emulate.

Purchased is the south west of Sweden - this area of Swedem was still Danish in the 18th century.

Six panel astrally-glazed doors sit above two drawers with round ring handles, which in turn sit above two lower fielded doors with original escutcheons and locks.
