George III Chest of Drawers

A lovely Sheraton chest of drawers consisting of two short drawers over three long drawers. The drawers have had three sets of handles, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian, and are now restored with oval George III style handles. Quadruple railroad moulding at the top and base, satinwood and ebony borders inlaid on each of the drawers and elegant swag and drop marquetry, again in satinwood and ebony, along the top pediment. The whole chest sits on petite, elegantly curved ogee legs (highly desirable!). The carcass is made from oak, and a careful wax has brought up the medullary ray brilliantly.
