Wharf Scene Painting With White-Washed Frame

We all love this 19th century Breton dock scene.

An expert would be able to date the hats worn by the Breton ladies, or the gaff-rigged boats in the harbour.

Well painted with the boats' sails reflected in the dappled water.

You can almost smell the cockles, winkles and oysters being landed. Just need a glass of Chablis.
