Swedish Biedermeier Armchairs

The stunning classical pair of Swedish armchairs, with carved side arms. These appear to be in burr maple/burr beech.

Sometimes these chairs are gesso, however this pair are polished. The foliate (Laurel) wreath scroll supports the Classical Sweedish Bank. 

There is a clear English Regency influence in the arms and legs, yet the back is very Scandanavian looking.
