Louis XIV dresser

Most of these Louis XIV period dressers are chestnut or walnut and sag a bit after the first 200 years.

This dresser is made of oak and it's absolutely straight. From the Louis XIV period, its top is made from two planks of quarter-sawn French oak. The dresser's doors are two of the nicest fielded panelled doors with original cast iron hinges and escutcheons.

The left hand door has the dresser's central mullion attached, the whole opens to reveal a single shelf. The entire cabinet is supported on a shaped frieze with attractive Louis XIV carved feet. The dresser's colour and patina are perfect.
