Ebonised Directoire Commode

A commode finished in matt black with gold highlights.

Dating from the French Empire period, the drawers have their original Directoire handles. The top drawer has an embellished key escutcheon.

The chest's two long drawers are flanked by fluted columns supported by turned and fluted Louis XVl feet.

So, features of Empire, Directoire and Louis XVl periods, nevertheless clean contemporary lines.
