Rimu Secretaire Bookcase

An outstanding rimu secretaire bookcase with cedar interior and kauri secondary timber. Found and made in Auckland, possibly by Tonson Garlick in Queen Street, it has original glass, baize and polish. Illustrated in "Furniture of the NZ Colonial Era 1830-1900" page 372, and inside title page (see dedication to photographer Joh Petit), it belonged to the author William Cottrell.
